How do I incorporate Man pages into my system?

How do I incorporate Man pages into my system?

I have just installed Netpbm, which appears to have a load of man pages in /usr/local/metpbm/man/man.1/, .../man.3/ and .../man.5/

What command(s) to I need to execute in order to be able to access these man pages?

I just added the location of the man files to my MANPATH variable.

(Shame I can't give myself some points!)
