How do I install a new hard disk in a server?

My server suffered from lost cluster.. possible due to hardware fault on hardisk. I manage to bootup the system... but will like to change a new harddisk.. How do I reconfigure the server if I want to install a bigger disk this time round...is there some sort of BIOS setting I need to play with?

Hi,

Go through this doc:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90698/B2355-90698.html
(See the "Configuring Disk Drives, Disk Arrays, and CD-ROM Drives" section of this manual)
HTH.

If your disk is compatible with your server, under HPUX, you just have to plug-in, and it will work !!
On the PDC, just look with "search" if it is see.
On HPUX, if they are no special device file, just run
inst -e
to create them.

The only problem you can see, is if your disk is to much recent for you server. In this case, you will need to update your server with the last HWE (HardWare Enable).

Olivier.
They say "install windows 2k, xp or better", so i install unix !
