How do I install software licenses??

Hi all,
I'm new to installing software licenses, and I've got to "install" these Permanent Passwords for some Omniback II software I've got for 2 new DLT tape drives installed. I've never done this before. I know how to install patches, bundles, etc...but have never done this. I do know that I need to install this software on the cell manager though. Any help would be much appreciated.

Oh those permanent passwords can be a pain in OmniBack to install.

Just log into OmniBack
Click the Install Icon
Click Edit and at the bottom in Add Licenses...

... remember you key EXACTLY what you see and don't hit that return/enter key until you put it ALL in there on ONE line. After you should be able to hit the tab Info and check if your permanent password took. If it didn't just call and ask for another one. I have had to more times than I care to admit to.

Hi Chet,

It's easy. You don't say which version HP-UX or NT but in any event it's very similar.

I'll do the HP-UX GUI version,

From xomni's Main Menu -> Install -> Edit -> Add License.
Just make sure you enter the passwords exactly as they are printed.

Use Omniback GUI xomni.
From Main Menu open Install click on Edit and select Add License.

These licenses are case sensitive.

You can also edit the file /etc/opt/omni/cell/lic.dat using vi and enter the code.

After entering code in either way, verify it using #omnicc -password_info command.
