How do I know " resident size " of a sub-process?
Hi,
By using command " top " and checking the column RES I can know the resident
size of the process. But I have some processed which contains several
sub-processes. Is there any command I can know the resident size of the
sub-processes of a process?
Thanks in advance and have a great day!

Re: How do I know " resident size " of a sub-process?
I suppose you could track down the process ID's of the children with ps -ef and
then go from there but that could be painful. For this type of analysis,
performance tools such as Glance could be most helpful. If you have never
loaded Glance before, there is a free 2-month trial version on the HP
Application CD's.

You can also use Measureware and look at memory metrics of a group of processes (that you define by Name, or UID ) in the /var/opt/perf/parm file...
file. Measureware and Perfview the data collection tools also have a 60 day instant on capability and are loadable from the application CDs
