How do I post an ITRC Forums issue for March 2006??....

Hi

I'm trying to post an Issue I'm having with ITRC, but the "ITRC issues Forums March 2006" page has been removed!!! (it was created on 6 March... but has disappeared)

My issue is I can't change my ITRC forums profile (Company name in edit tab).. When I change my company name etc all I get is ... "The Forums user name you specified is already in use." I've been using this user name (Tim Fulford) for the last 6 or so years... why do I need to change it now... it is my name?

Date & time of change 20:35 GMT 8 March 2006..

Regards

Tim

I've had the same problem. I needed to change my company name, and I was getting the same error as you. I just changed my name from "Paul Carlson" to "Paul F Carlson", and then changed my company name, and all was well.

At the time, I was guessing that it was because I had an older account on itrc that I no longer used, that also had my real name as "Paul Carlson".

Paul F.

Many thanks I believe there is a "Tim Fulford" on the Americas server... which I errounously created back in Dec 2000... This could be it.

I'm worried that every time my company re-brands itself I'll need to add another initial!

Re: How do I post an ITRC Forums issue for March 2006??....

tim,

post it in the general forums, that is where HP have asked for issues to be posted

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/categoryhome.do?categoryId=296

dont hold your breath for an answer though!

you will see here that steven's issues thread was removed also without good reason, and poor explanation.

read this thread

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1007452

It just seems to prove to me the lack of interest HP has in the forums now, I like many others have posted queries ony to be ignored.

Hi Tim,

I started believing that HP has lot its interest towards ITRC forums. Many of my HP friends dont even know that ITRC exists.

We from India face severe trouble while posting replies and accessing to forums even :( This issue is the plate since Sep 05 and no actions from HP yet..

Re: How do I post an ITRC Forums issue for March 2006??....

I do not believe interest has been lost. I believe there has been confusion.

I too posted a thread, which received good reviews, as you may or may not know. It survived nearly a day before it was removed.

I reacted both publicly and privately and received conflicting answers from ITRC managmen t. Cheryl backed the removal decision, Dan encouraged me to re-post after he spoke to the moderators.

I was and remain very upset about this, with issues outside ITRC contributing to my emotional distress. I decided due to all of these factors to await Cheryl's answer prior to re-posting.

The profiles issue: I figured that out. Read this:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1007452

The solution to the profiles problem is in that thread. The fact that you created this thread and had to reask the question either proves you are trying to back me up or that the new reporting methodology does not work.

I prefer to believe the later.

Lets decide that this is the issues thread, shall we?

Moderators. I have an email that specifically authorizes the existance of this thread. DO NOT delete it without obtaining approval from both Dan and Cheryl.

Note, I specifically did not use the word please.

Good Day.

Re: How do I post an ITRC Forums issue for March 2006??....

It's all well and good to "consider this an issues thread", assuming Tim doesn't mind his thread being hi-jacked, but how are we going to make people in general and moderators in particular aware of what we think this thread is?

Pete,

I would hope that anyone who wants to post an issue will see this thread and read it to find out how they post an issue. They'll see the suggestion and use this thread.

We can but hope.

I have permission to repost my thread Tim.

If you don't wish this thread used for that purpose, post back and I'll repost.

Whether or not I post the thread is now in Tim's hands.

Re: How do I post an ITRC Forums issue for March 2006??....

5 points all round..

Paul F has provided a "patch". I personally would like HP to provide the fix.

SEP.. I really dont mind if you continue with your thread. To be honest I've posted this problem (on the "ITRC Forums issues for XXXX") a couple of times, so when March 2006 was not there I took the opptunity to post my own thread...

As always it is interesting to see everyones opionions.

I'll close this thread now..

Guess we have a few answers.

Sorry for mistakenly trying to hijack your thread.
