Re: How do you determine firmware version of A6826A HBA?
get fabric
might work on certain HBA's
perhaps dump_current_state
fcmsutil /dev/td0
Shows the current patch installed for the card.

Re: How do you determine firmware version of A6826A HBA?
The firmware version should be displayed in the VPD information returned by "fcmsutil
See more details in the doc "Fibre Channel Mass Storage Guide", chapter 4, "fcmsutil", available at http://docs.hp.com/en/J6374-90014/ch04s03.html
under "reading VPD information". Firmware version is part of VPD.
The doc says this is supported by A6826A.

SolutionThe others have given you the method to determine FW version & compatibility. I would give you two further pieces of advice:
1) Have that L1000 at a current FW version itself - ver 44.28 available here:
http://www2.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/patchDetail.do?BC=patch.breadcrumb.main|patch.breadcrumb.search|&patchid=PF_CRHW4428&context=firmware:cpu
2) If you anticipate any kind of heavy load on this disk I/O then only install these HBAs in the Twin-Turbo slots. They'll give you a fighting chance for max I/O throughputs. The HW manual & the back of the system will tell you just which slots these are.
My 2 cents,
Jeff

Re: How do you determine firmware version of A6826A HBA?
Another simple way is with mstm. Here's how to do it:
1. Run mstm then click OK once prompted.
2. Search the HBA in question down the hw list and select.
3. Go to Tools > Information > Run. Look for firmware version.
