How does upgrading from HPUX 10.20 to 11i effect SAS 6.12 and 8.2?

Hi,

Upgrading the OS is not recommended, You should have a backup of all application and data before proceeding with upgrade. Some of the applications will get affected due to changes in shared libraries

I did not make it clear. This is a cold install. It is an "upgrade" in the version of the software. I am interested in how it might have effected SAS 6.12 and SAS 8.2.

Your memory requirements, swap, kernel parameters, and disk space requirements will most likely increase.

Have you already installed 11i and are experiencing issues, or are you going to do so and just want to know what to look out for??

What kind of server, memory, storage, ... ??

Future planning. I will not do the install of 11i. I just work with users and the planning to see what they might have to do.
Like do we need any specific changes for SAS.
I want to see if what SAS tells me is any different than the real world experienced users see.

Hi,

Check with SAS, definately there will be changes to be made to kernel,
Because while migrating DB2/oracle to higher version from one version OS to higher version, kernel parameters needs to be changed to suit that OS version.
