How install 1000base netcard for j5600 in hp-ux 10.20?

I used a j5600 workstation,os is hp-ux 10.20.
I want upgrade its net card.
I think a4929a and a4926a 1000base card can support.
But I don't how install it in my system.
Where's the net card's driver for 10.20?
What patch are install?

Do I need software license after I purchase the card ?

1) Make sure the system supports the card. Check at http://partsurfer.hp.com

2) Make sure there are drivers for it for your unsupported OS HP-UX 10.20. They are most likely on the Application CD's I think the last set that were cut were done in December 2001. That fact may be in error, but you want the latest driver.

3) My understanding of HP's license process is there is a Right to Use License that comes with the hardware. If the records are up to date with HP there are no additional license requirements for adding this hardware to your box.

There is a problem though. If you don't have a software contract, you've got no right to use the application cd's I mentioned above.

If this is a workstation and not a server, I would suggest an upgrade to HP-UX 11.00 or 11.11 if the hardware supports it. The drivers for your chosen card IF supported come with the Core OS Cd's.

There is little that can be done in this case, in my opinion without cd's or a software contract which entitles you to the CD's.

The latest and last gigabit patch will bring you up to .12 version driver:

PHNE_23713 B.10.20.12

This patch can be downloaded via the ITRC.
