How to boot a C360
Is it possible to do this by using an ignite server running on HP-UX10.20
Best regards

Re: How to boot a C360
ip-adress ..., etc.
Then boot your C360 from ignite server, "boot lan.ip-adress install".
I think its no problem to do this by using an ignite server on HPUX 10.20

Re: How to boot a C360
The server and the client must be in the same broadcast domain.
At the boot_admin menu on the C360 you can now type "sea lan install". it should list all your ignite servers and/or boothelper in you broadcast domain. Then you can boot by entering "bo pX install". pX is a shortcut to the boot path. it is listed in the search output.

Re: How to boot a C360
Looking at the IUX release notes, I would NOT expect this to work. Here's an excerpt:
1.1 Release Numbering Scheme
=============================
The B.* releases of Ignite-UX are based on the 11.11 version of HP-UX.
The A.* releases are based on 10.20. The Ignite-UX code base is the same
for the two releases so the features will be similar. The big difference
is that the B.* releases are capable of installing the 11.11, 11.00, and
10.20 releases of HP-UX, where as A.* Ignite-UX can install 10.20, 10.10,
and 10.01.
So, for this to work, you'd have to be able to install the B version onto the IUX server, which is running 10.20. The only way that it is supported to put any part of the B release on a 10.20 system is if you're doing so in order to enable it to be backed up by an 11.X server (i.e. make_net_recovery).
If it were me, I'd still try it, but wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't work.
Good luck,
Bruce Laughlin

Re: How to boot a C360
The ignite server must also be on the same subnet, all machines on the same gateway, or you need an ignite gateway helper machine to get past the router.
I would be real surprised if you were able to get that 11 ignite image using a 10.20 ignite server to start with.
