How to check part number while machine is ON
I have RP2470 machine, its one hard disk giving problem and i want to change it but I am trying to find the part number without having to physically look. Please help.

Your best bet for P/Ns is to go to www.partsurfer.hp.com and enter the model # of the server & then search down to find the P/Ns for the size disks that it was shipped with.
BTW - if the disk is mirrored then why can't you just pull it out & check?
If it's not mirrored then I would assume it's down anyway.

To get the Part Nos pls follow the procdure.
1. login MP
2. MP>CM>DF ----> Display FRU command.
this will display ALL - FRU (field replacable units) with its PartNO , serial NO etc.

#diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c6t.... depending on the device file.
That should give you the product number and the size and some details.
Then you can get the part number that match the product number at the part surfer's place mentioned above.

It is quite difficult to guess the size of your current disk unless you tell us so!
anyway, part numbers for disks for your system are as follows:
