How to compile a Pro C code on Hp - Unix ?
Hi All,
We have a pro c code (uses EXEC SQL) that we need to compile. On other flavours of unix we use the pre processor (proc) to convert the .pc file to a .c file.
I could not find the proc preprocessor in HP-Unix. Which preprocessor is to be used in HP Unix ? We have Oracle 9i installed on the Unix machine.
I looked at the HP-Unix man pages and also went through the sample make files in $ORACLE_HOME but could not find any solutions.
Regards,
Saurav.

Re: How to compile a Pro C code on Hp - Unix ?
The answer is the same for any flavor of UNIX, use proc in the ${ORACLE_HOME}/bin directory BUT the precompilers are not installed by default. You need to install the Oracle precompilers and you will also need a supported C and/or C++ compiler as well. The bundled c compiler will not work. You will need ANSI/C or aCC.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

As A.Clay says, proc compiler is $ORACLE_HOME/bin/proc. In addition, you can find sample Makefiles in $ORACLE_HOME/precomp/demo/proc if precompilers are installed (if not you will need to install with OUI).
