How to configure email address format

Hi all,

Our email on HP-UX has been broken since we upgraded to Exchange 2000 last week. After a lot of fooling around, it seems to be getting closer, but yet no cigar.

Suppose the name of our exchange server is email.foo.com. My email address is name@foo.com.

When I do a sendmail -v name@foo.com the displayed RCPT address is name@email.foo.com which obviously will not be found and bounces in exchange.

Can anyone tell me how to get eliminate (if I really do) the 'email' portion of my address when sent to exchange, so that it can be found in Exchange?

Thanks in advance,
Randy

Re: How to configure email address format

Hi Randy,

Refer DM macro in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf

# Masquerade as (DM): #
# #
# If you wish to have mail appear to be from some host or location #
# other than the loacl host, set macro M to the name you wish to #
# masquerade as. This is also know as site hiding and was set using #
# the DY macro in previous releases of hp-ux. This might be used to #
# make mail appear as from a site rather than an individual host or #
# from a central mail hub. Note, however, that just making mail #
# appear to be from a different location does not mean that the #
# receipient will be able to reply to the email. If you use this feature #
# you will also need to be sure that you can reply to the email.

Re: How to configure email address format

Have you tried, to set a masquerade.

This might not be the best way, but its the first that comes to mind.
