You typically define the proxy configuation on the browser. In Netscape go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced->Proxies and fill out the appropriate information. I am not sure how to set up proxies in MS IE.

I don't think there is a way to set up proxies on the server other than in the browser itself.

On Internet Explorer, it is:
Tools -> Internet Options ->Connections -> LAN settings ... follow the prompts (you may need the Advanced tab)

nothing wrong with me that a few lines of code cannot fix!

Re: How to configure my server to use MS Proxy server to get on www

Proxy is only valid for HTTP and FTP. These ports are configurable through Netscape. MS Proxy is not very good at letting anything other than IE get to the net, but it can be done.
Netscape > edit > preferences > advanced > proxies will give you the boxes needed to enter the proxy server IP and Port # that the proxy listens on. IE for anything other than Windblows may be better at finding ports for you if you do not know but performance on HP-UX, Sun, etc.. sucks!

Maybe you can talk your company into running Squid proxy on HP-UX! Excellent performance and stability! I use this config at 2 sites, and Squid on SunOS at another. Faster and more flexible, more secure and it caches too!

Do it at the client app level.

But you should start thinking about
fdisk and format to solve your problem.

Have fun,
