created with make_net_recovery. I need now to
recover this client server but cannot reach the
server from the client. So I need to copy this
recovery file to a dat and use it locally on
the client. Can someone tell me how to create
a bootable dat, and how to append the recovery
file after that, skipping (probably) some
heading part of the recovery file. Quite urgent..
Thank you!

Re: how to copy a ignite net recovery to a dat
you can see docs if you have system handle linked to your ITRC user. If you have it then go on home page of ITRC ---> click on first link 'search technical knowledge base' and select 'Search by Doc.ID' inserting KNC090199002 ---> and go with search.
I hope this helps you.
Best regards,
Ettore

Re: how to copy a ignite net recovery to a dat
Patrick is correct. Go to /opt/ignite/share and look in the doc makenetrec.text. There is a section down toward the bottom that says "Creating a Bootable Archive Tape". That will give you instruction on copying a make_net_recovery to tape.

Re: how to copy a ignite net recovery to a dat
OS through the ignite image. A big thank you also to Mr.Landolt and Mr.Carbone from HP Switzerland! Just a pity that make_net_recovery doesn't support the -A option, available with make_recovery, and we have now restored a system with lot of important missing components..
