How to create alarms?

Team:

I have to test Tivoli DM product which has benn loaded on our N class server. I need to create a few alarms...for example.. fill up a file system to 100% etc... Can anyone think of more cases like that.

Thanks
David.

Re: How to create alarms?

Pull a network cable? A disk drive? Run multiple find commands or multiple dd commands to raise I/O rates?

In addition, you can check whether the daemons alive/dead, node up/down.

Re: How to create alarms?

In adition,

- Check swap space and memory.
- Check logfiles for errors.
- Check spooler and spool queues.
- Check if all Tivoli proceses are running.
- Check if time responses from/to Tivoli are goods.

Check network utilization: run multiple ftp sessions.
