How to display Chinese characters?
I have an HP-UX 11.23 box. I use Hummingbird Exceed running on my Windows PC to get a CDE session on this HP-UX box. I want to use the Traditional Chinese locale zh_TW.big5. So starting from the CDE login screen I do: Options->Language->zh_TW.big5. The result is that I get back the CDE login screen with a bunch of garbage characters in it. The same behavior occurs for all the zh_TW.* locales.
I ran locale -a on the machine and the zh_TW.* locales are present. I started the xfs font server daemon and configured my Exceed program to use the HP-UX box as a font server. But still the problem persists. How do I get the Chinese locale of HP-UX to work properly on Exceed?
thanks
Victor

Re: How to display Chinese characters?
http://docs.hp.com/en/5990-8560/ch02.html
one can test for the presence of ASE by doing:
swlist -l product Asian-Core
I ran the above command and it returned:
Asian-Core B.11.23
So the Asian-Core is installed on my system.
Any other ideas/suggestions?
thanks
