How to download packages and patches list
Hello,
I would like to compare the packages and patches installed on my HP-UX (pa-risc and itanium) machine is upto date or not.
Where can I find the latest packages and patches details with the severity ?
Thanks in advance,
Chanthu

Re: How to download packages and patches list
Hi Chanthu,
Have a look at the SWA (Software Assistent) for HPUX.

Re: How to download packages and patches list
Hi:
To evaluate your patches, use the Software Assistant (SWA). If you don't have it, fetch it from:
https://www.hp.com/go/swa
No reboot is required for installation and configuration is simple. Documentation exists here:
http://docs.hp.com/en/B3921-90009/B3921-90009.pdf
This forum has a number of threads on the subject, too.
As for products ("packages") you will need to compare a 'swlist' of your machines. Currently, most packages are insstalled during a cold-install; during Operating Environment (OE) updates (with 'update-UX'); from the HP Software Depot (www.software.hp.com); or from the independent HP-UX Porting Centre ( http://hpux.connect.org.uk ).
Regards!
