I have a question about how to eject a tape with still making use of a tape-device with the n(o-rewind).
Sun has an "eject" command. Is there a command for HP to use, to eject a tape?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Re: How to eject tape
It doesn't make any difference if you've been using the no-rewind device or not, just issue the mt offl command: mt -f /dev/rmt/0m offl

Re: How to eject tape
eg mt -f /dev/rmt/0mn offl
The tapename can be a rewind or no rewind device.
'mt -t' is in some operating systems obsolete, so more practical to use mt -f.
'offl' stands for rewind the tape and go offline.
