Re: how to figure the internal disks

Hi Amit,

I would go to the server room, enter the following
dd if=/dev/dsk/cxtydz of=/dev/null
in console, and look at what disk led is continously on.

Re: how to figure the internal disks

You have to read the systems documentation to be sure.
The size of the path doesn't matter in this case.

I would bet this is a rp24x0, right?

In this case, the internal drives are

disk 0 0/0/1/1.15.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE MAXTOR ATLAS15K_36SCA
/dev/dsk/c1t15d0 /dev/rdsk/c1t15d0
disk 1 0/0/2/1.15.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE MAXTOR ATLAS15K_36SCA
/dev/dsk/c3t15d0 /dev/rdsk/c3t15d0

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: how to figure the internal disks

Hi Amit,

what does this rp24x0 means?

rp24x0 - > It is a model of a PA server.

Re: how to figure the internal disks

Please logon to your server and run

model

this will give you the model name of your server.

If you get something like

9000/800/A500-7X

(note the "A500" or "A400") your system is an A-Class server, aka as rp2450 or rp2470.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: how to figure the internal disks

If you could post the model command output then we could confirm the disks which are internal.

Or you could refer the system block diagram and lookfor the I/O paths.
