How to find out specific document with given document id?

Anybody knows how and where I can find out specific document with given document id, such as Document #A5462896: "IP: how to change the time a closed socket stays in TIME_WAIT state".

and Document #KBRC00004355: "netstat -an reveals TCP connections in a "CLOSE_WAIT" state".

and also "Doc Id A5211863".

I can't find these documents. Are they in docs.hp.com or technical knowledge base or somewhere else?

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

I found all of these documents in the Technical Knowledge Base within ITRC.

What you need to be sure to do is select 'Search by Doc. Id' in the drop-down box that is on the left of the search field. Then you put the doc-id in the search field and you should be able to bring up the appropriate documents.

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

Some documents require that you have a valid support agreement with HP. This means you'd have to verify your support contract by linking it to your ITRC user id before you can view them. If you have a support contract and haven't linked it to your user id, click on the "my profile" link to the left. Then click on "link a support agreement"

On the page to link your support agreement you'll be asked to provide your System Handle and Support Agreement Number or System Serial Number. This information may be found on your contract.

Once you link your support contract to your user id, you'll have access to more features of the ITRC.

If you don't have a support agreement or system handle linked to the user id, some doc id's may "produce no results" when you search for them on the Technical Knowledgebase.

Hope this helps

Why would HP do this Denver? To prevent users from doing their own maintenance?

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

Sorry to reply so late.

I checked my userid and found out that I have already linked to my system handle and still cannot see documents like Document #A5462896 and "Doc Id A5211863" when I search string like A5462896 or A5211863 under Technical Knowledge Base. It just produce no results.

I can only view Document #KBRC00004355. Is there something wrong with HP documents?

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

Before you did the search did you select 'Search by Doc ID' instead of 'Search by Keyword'? The 'Search by Doc ID' is the key. I tried searching with the 'Search by Keyword' selected and I couldn't find the documents either. It wasn't until I selected 'Search by Doc ID' that I was able to get to the documents you reference.

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

I have never noticed/thought of this before but it really works. That means Doc id is not considered as keyword in HP documentation and there is such an special option as "Search by Doc id".

Thank you so much.

Re: How to find out specific document with given document id?

I found it strange the the Doc Id is not considered a key word as well.

I am also confused about why Paul Corry got the 10 points for the magic answer?

Sorry, I made a mistake accidently. Anybody knows how I can get points back from Paul courry and assign it to Patrick Wallek?
