How to find the version of the software in the CD using swlist

Hello All,

Can anyone pl. tell me how do i know the version of the softwares in the HP Install & Core OS CD-rom using swlist.

swlist -d -a revision @ /cd


Should work . Look at the man page.

swlist @ /cdrom will show all software, with version numbers, assuming your CD is mounted under /cdrom.

Mount the CD on hp-ux. Mount point is /CD then,

swlist -d -l @ /CD

Hi

swlist is used to list the installed softwares on the m/c. you can't use swlist to see versions in CD unless you install
never give up

I find it easier to determine versions on dated disks by using:
http://www.hp.com/softwarereleases/releases-media2/latest/aps/06_04/serversm.htm

Search the list for the application in question. For instance ServiceGuard (search the page for Service), then look at the middle column to find your OS and the Date of the media you have. Version is in the next column.

Mount CD to /CD_ROM

use
#swlist -d -a revision @ /CD_ROM
