How to format a floppy-disk with DOS-Format on HP-UX11.0 system?

Hello All;

Do somebody know that, How to format a floppy-disk with DOS-Format on HP-UX11.0 system?

Is it possible to do that?

I had done those commands below;

1. "mediainit" with "-i" option, but it wasn't collect option.

2. "idosinit" but id wasn't supported.

3. "doscp" or "dosls" "dos...etc" were worked, after formated a floppy-disk on Windows machine.

Hi Katsu,

Formatting the disk on an DOS system is the only option for DOS file formatting, HP-UX will only give you the HP-UX format which is thru mediainit.

BTW, the floppy disk right now usually is formatted already with DOS.

is to dd(1) a "empty floppy imagefile" to /dev/rfloppy/....

Shalom,

Take the floppy to a machine that has DOS on it.

HP-UX does not come with DOS and can't create DOS floppy diskettes
