How to generate a system crash/dump

I am building an 11.00 system on an
RP7400 and RP5470. I want to generate a crash dump to test.

Is there a way to do this.

Hi,

L-class/rp54XX

press Ctrl-b, login to GSP and execute the TC command.

Re: How to generate a system crash/dump

1. TOC button on the back of the server - look for something that is labeled "TOC". Transfer-Of-Control. if you select this button you will force a system crash.

2. console management: if you login to the management console GSP, you should be able to force a TOC.

Re: How to generate a system crash/dump

Have you configured your system to save crash dump?? First set it. Check /etc/rc.config.d/crashconf and /etc/rc.config.d/savecrash.

Is crash dump area defined?? lvlnboot -v vg00

If all have been taken care of, from GSP do a TC. This will do a TOC, and crash will be saved in /var/adm/crash
