can any one tell me how to increase root file system on HP-UX 10.20 using ignite UX?
I have created Ignite make_recovery tape.
Thanks

Re: How to Increase root file system with Ignite on HP-UX 10.20
when you get to the modify screen tab over to the screen (cant remember which one but its like the 4th or 5th tab) on this screen you will beable to set the size of the file systems, once you've set this and saved it using the screen instructions, continue and let it finish the rest.
good luck

Please also make the ignite tape using -I option since this is an interactive option it will ask you for confirmations and changes before storing and also restoring the OS . Ofcourse you need to go the filesystems to cahnge the root file system size.

Re: How to Increase root file system with Ignite on HP-UX 10.20
thereis another way without using the interactive mode:
#make_recovery -A -p
Then edit the file
/var/opt/ignite/recovery/config.recover
and change the size of the lvol that contains your / or /stand filesystem ( be care of fixing more space that you have in vg00 )
Then resume the make_recovery
#make_recovery -r
And just boot your server from the tape.
Regs.

Re: How to Increase root file system with Ignite on HP-UX 10.20
Cut an recovery tape:
make_recovery -aC
Boot from the tape.
Simply interrupt the boot process with the ENTER key; otherwise you will wind up simply restoring vg00 as it was on the tape.
Change the filesystem sizes in the interactive menu.
Be certain that you locate ALL of lvol1 and lvol2 within the first 2GB of the boot disk, and that lvol3 starts no further than exactly 2GB into the boot disk. All three lvols must be contiguous and in sequential order.
Let the process complete and your lvols will be contiguous and in sequential order when you are finished.
Good Luck,
