how to install 11.31 from lan?
I am new to HP UX, want to install the 11.31 OS from lan. When I boot from lan I get following error:
Searching for devices

HP 1Port 4Gb Fibre Channel Adapter (driver 1.05, firmware 4.00.070)
Booting over the network
Loading.: Core LAN Gb B
Client MAC Address: 00 17 A4 51 7E 7D .....|
PXE-E16: Valid PXE offer not received.
Starting: Core LAN Gb B
Start of Core LAN Gb B failed: Invalid Parameter
Press any key to continue
What is missing here?

Re: how to install 11.31 from lan?
on the ignite server
you can see by editing the file
/etc/bootptab
copy the last few lines to a new set and put in
ha=
ip=
sn=
for example
This is the entry in /etc/bootptab on the VMHost/Ignite Server
vmguest:\ #client hostname
ht=ethernet:\
hn:\
bf=/opt/ignite/boot/nbp.efi:\
bs=48:\
tc=ignite-defaults:\
ha=6e3cc920dfc7:\ #hardware address of client
ip=172.17.1.20:\ #ip of client
sm=255.255.0.0:\ #subnet mask of client
gw=172.17.1.210:\ #gateway of client
#ds=172.17.1.22:\
dn=
then try booting the client using the LAN Card Whose MAC Address you have gien here.

Re: how to install 11.31 from lan?
Note if the boot is across multiple subnets, you may need to build an Ignite boot helper.
