how to install pkg file ?

I got a software named xxxx.pkg, and I want to install it, but seems there is no any command to finish this job, anyone can help me ?

What does it return? Unless you know what it is, you can't do anything. where did you get it?

It seemed to be solaris software..

HP-UX's software is XXXX.depot.

Check your file....

Yep. Legato Networker product is having an extension with .pkg for hp-ux platform. I am working on it ;)

Simply as,

# cd /
# swlist -s

what are you getting. Are you getting informations then install it with swinstall utility.

RAC, file xxx.pkg, the return info is : this is tar file.
