How to login MP in HP-UX

How to MP login in HP-UX OS console. i am not in the same City where the server.
I am able to do SSH.

MP or GSP has a different IP from a normal IP. You must be having normal IP of the server. Multiple users can do ssh/telnet from normal IP, but from MP only one user can log in.

So, you need to ask for the IP of MP and its login credentials to log in.

In general telnet or ssh to the ip address of the ilom MP card and logon with Admin and the password. Some models will only do ssh if it has been enabled before hand. Some models also have a web interface put the ip address of the ilo card in the browser.
Type HE for help which will decscribe the commands available to you on your particular system and firmware release subsequent menus also have a help command .

Problem is that server show amber light on On error LED, but server is working now, i want to read/clear the logs.
i have only server IP address.

can you help me in this regards

I do not *think* there is any way to find the console/MP ip in 11.11. (Moreover, you are in remote location).

You have to contact someone who can provide MP details.

hello,
The MP card uses a seperate physical interface for security and OS integrity reasons. Without the ip address of the MP /ilo card a remote connection is not possible unless a remote modem has been installed in which case you need the phone number.
You will need to get somebody local to the machine to sign on and give you the MP ip address or even get them to access the system log (SL) to read and clear the alert .

MP is a good remote console utility. I used telnet to logon MP, just put ;IP and walk in the menu.

On some models you can get the MP IP from SMH - try it.

Hi,
you are right regarding the amber light ,as you have to read the system log or remove it in order to stop the light,
so as you have only the server ip , i am thinking if you can run SMH as there is a link inside to start the iLO management interface where you can delete the system log , but i hope that your MP firmware supports this.
one other thing, i am not sure if you can run SMH through a browser , one other solution is to access a windows machine in the same subnet ,start your browser and http://hostname:2301.

You may need to run a null modem cable phyiscally to the hardware and launch a hyperterminal session from a laptop or nearby server. I think you can reset the MP via this means if the password and ip information is lost.

Unless someone knows the IP address for the port, there is no possible way to find it remotely. In fact, unless someone hooked a cable to the console port, it won't matter what IP address has been set on the system. You'll have to travel to the system's location and take a serial terminal cable along with a terminal or perhaps a laptop that has a serial port. Warning: new laptops do not have a serial port anymore. You can then connect to the MP and set the login/password for the MP as well as the IP address. And be sure to take a LAN cable for the console port.
