How to make Software Distributor supersedes an installed product

Hi.

I use Software Distributor to package products and I would like a previous installed version of a product to be superseded by a newer one, so that swlist displays only the last version installed.
How can I do that?

Re: How to make Software Distributor supersedes an installed product

Hi,

Check out the following docs:

a) Software Distributor Administration Guide for HP-UX 11i - http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90754/B2355-90754.html

b) Software Distributor Administration Guide for HP-UX 11i v2 - http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90789/B2355-90789.html

c) Software Package Builder 1.0 User's Guide - http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/5187-4494/5187-4494.html

Re: How to make Software Distributor supersedes an installed product

I already checked the docs but did not find what I was looking for, except the supersedes key which might do what I want; but it does only work for filesets and I do not know precisely how to use it.

The supersedes keyword works fine indeed.
