i wanna monitor the traffic,but dont know how to do it

If you have the money to spare, you could look at GlancePlus (not mentioned in the link).

The graphical interface (gpm) gives you a 'realtime' window on the amount of traffic going over the network.

You can install a demo (used to be valid for a month or so) - I think its on the application software disks.

Assuming you want to monitor network traffic , I would recommend to use MRTG free tool for getting graphs for interface network traffic.

you can run it to collect statisitics from SNMP suported network devices.

you have to enable to snmp either in the server or in the network switch to which the server is conected .

MRTG is avaiable for win32 and unix platforms.
