How to print to Canon printer/copier via lp spooler
I have a Canon CLC 900 and a Canon GP335, both are copier/printers and both are networked.
I've created the IP address and alias in /etc/hosts and can successfully ping the alias. I use the commands suggested by Canon to add the printer ...
lpshut
lpadmin -pBS28 -v/dev/null -mrmodel
-ocmrcmodel -osmrsmodel -ormBS28
-orpprint_900-950
accept BS28
enable BS28
lpsched
I've tried lots of variations of the -orm and -orp options but with no success. With the above commands I get a "Waiting for BS28 to come up" message from lpstat.
Attached is a plain text file scanned in from the CLC 900 configuration page, if it is of any help.
If anyone has any ideas you will make a very tired 3rd time father very happy.

Darn! This is worse than finding a witty remark for a co-worker's leaving card!

Re: How to print to Canon printer/copier via lp spooler
A different option would be to use HP JetAdmin and configure the printer using the dumbplot model script for printer. I have had quite a bit of success with this option.

Re: How to print to Canon printer/copier via lp spooler
/cm/UserProfile/1,1157,?t ,00.html - I can't find lpr on my system so I assume it is an optional printing utility.
Brian - I've tried dumb_plot model in JetAdmin but to no avail, however we have version D.01.08 so I've downloaded D.06.21 and I suspect this will work.
I have been told that the Canons use service 515 so do either of you know if, after configuring via JetAdmin, I have to edit the printer script in /etc/lp/interface to set the port variable?
