How to recover disc space after system panic

I would like to recover some disc space after a system panic. The files are in /var/adm/crash/crash.0/
Can anyone advize me which files can be safely removed?

Thanks in advance.

Re: How to recover disc space after system panic

Hi,

the crash.0 directory can safely be removed, but can be used by HP to analyze the reason of your crash. So it's up to you, let it be, save it to tape, or just delete it.

Hi

These files are important if you wish to extablish as to why the system crashed.

Also the ts99 file in /var/adm/tombstones/.

I you are happy as to why the system crashed then it is OK to remove this crash.0 dir.

Re: How to recover disc space after system panic

Hi,

If you don't need to debug your savecore image, then you can delete all files from the /var/adm/crash directory. I would suggest you to take a backup of the files and delete it. In that case, you can always take the files back if you need them in future.

You can use 'adb' command, if you would like to debug the core images.
