How to Reduce The Load Average

My system (hpux10.0)is showing high load.oracle 8i is running very slow.how to reduce the load pls help me....

Hi Hareesh,
You can monitor the system through glance/plus or top. From that you will come to know which application is taking your system resources.

If disk i/o bottleneck is the issue, then you may distribute the applications/ database to different disks.

give ur server hardware details
and
sar -Mu 1 5
vmstat -S 1 5
swapinfo -tam
iostat 1 5
sysdef

also contact ur oracle admin
do u have SAP
