How to remove disk from VG without loosing the data

I have added 1 TB space (10 disks) to VG11 some time back. Now i need to remove 1 TB from same VG. Can some tell me what is the procedure to remove 1 tb from VG without loosing the data.

Filesystem kbytes used avail %used Mounted on
/dev/vg11/lvol2 1484914688 350625000 1125428096 24% /test/qa
FS size - 1416

need to remove 1024GB

Data size on filesystem - 334GB

What is your OS?


Better to ask the question in the OS-specific forum, e.g. for HP-UX:
