not in configured state?

Use Check_patches command (11.00) to list the patches.
You can use
swmodify -x patch_commit=true PATCH NAME
-USA..

An "installed" state means that the software was successfully *installed* but not 'configured'. Not every patch requires configuration. However, you can/should run 'swconfig' to make sure that any configuration steps have, in fact, been completed. If the patch is a kernel patch (PHKL_), you should anticipate a reboot.
For a single patch do:
# swconfig PHXX_nnnn
For multiple patches you can do:
# swconfig \*

A word of caution: do not commit the patches if you want to be able to remove them.
Use swconfig to change the state from installed to configured then swremove them.

In the swremove window, select to list the softwares by product type and i think you should be able to see the patch you want to remove in the list. you can then select and remove the patch if you want.
