How to start CDE on HP9000/A500?

Hi,

Server: HP9000/A500, OS: HP-UX B.11.11, with many CDE filesets. we haven't any graphic card and monitor on the Server, we just want using the CDE fuction on emulational program like COMPAQ eXcursion through TCPIP. my question are:
1. Does these enough envirnment to run CDE?
2. How to set up?

It is enough to run CDE. Try to start dtlogin.rc startup script available in /sbin/init.d/ location as,

# /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start
# export DISPLAY=:0.0

Start any xwindows client software and you are able to access xwindow based server terminal.

Yes, these are enough to run CDE, you can use tools like XManager (http://www.netsarang.com/) to see the remote display.

2. How to set up?

# /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start (start dtlogin process)
# export DISPLAY=0.0

then, start Xmanager from PC, login to HP-UX.

Thanks, I could using the client Xmanager to connect HP-UX now, I could not using the Compaq eXcursion also.
