How to start samba

Samba has already installed in HP-UX itanium 11.23, samba version is 3.0.22, but I am unable to start smbd service, nmbd is running but samba has not started , Can anyone suggetst me how to start enable samba.

Hi

you can run it in command mode

#/sbin/init.d/samba start

or from swat web pages. browse the URL

http://hostname(or IP):901

The start Samba command is:

startsmb

...But make sure you configured your /etc/opt/smb.conf file, cause starting it, and having it configured are two different things.
