Re: How to start the udp port 177 in HP-UX
I know nothing, but a Google search for
keywords like, say,
hp-ux xdmcp
finds many things, many of which seem to
point to files like:
/usr/dt/config/Xaccess
/usr/dt/config/Xconfig
A Forum search might find other things, too.
Potentially useful:
man dtlogin
> # uname -a
Usually a good way to start.

Re: How to start the udp port 177 in HP-UX
Did you try anything like a Forum search for
keywords like, say,
install cde
?
Or you could just read the manual(s). (Only
a thought.)

I had checked this forum and start the dtlogin
http://forums13.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?admit=109447627+1268716499759+28353475&threadId=1361338
now the i can see
# netstat -an | grep 177
udp 0 0 *.177 *.*
#
# ps -eaf | grep dt
root 15983 1 0 10:59:21 ? 0:00 /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin -daemon
root 16328 15916 0 11:05:20 pts/1 0:00 grep dt
#
# swlist -l product | grep -i cde
CDE B.11.31 HP-UX CDE User Interface

What's your PATH?
echo $PATH
Around here:
dyi # which xclock
/usr/bin/X11/xclock
dyi # which xhost
/usr/bin/X11/xhost
You run "xhost" on the X server system (your
Windows system), not on the X client system
(the HP-UX system).

> Xbrowser.
"I am not able" is not a very useful problem
description. It does not say what you did.
It does not say what happened when you did
it.
> [...] the x browser is opening and closed
> automatically with in 3 secancds.
You may need to look at the system log files
to see what's happening.

Re: How to start the udp port 177 in HP-UX

export DISPLAY
"$DISPLAY" is the _value_ of the variable,
not the _name_ of the variable.
I assume that "10.92.1.87" is the IP address
of the Windows system, but whether this is
a useful thing to do depends on what you're
doing. And, with my weak psychic powers, I
don't know what you're doing.
One thing I know you're _not_ doing is
running suggested commands and reporting the
results. Another thing you're not doing is
describing in any detail exactly what you are
doing.
