see process id and kill it.
provided u know who is the user.

Another common one, to at least logout those sitting idle at the shell prompt is to add:

typeset -r TMOUT=300

to /etc/profile

This will cause idle shell prompts to logout after 5 minutes.

Of course if they're not sat at the shell prompt that won't work - it's then an application question.
