how to understand system is halted

Hello to eveyone..

We are using rp3440 box..
HP-UX MyMachine B.11.11 U 9000/800 4205714048 unlimited-user license

When I give shutdown command, How can I ensure that system is haled ?

I know I can use MP and look at console, But there should be something easier method.. maybe the LEDs in the front panel ?

check System LED States in front panel.

Off -AC power off if power LED is off.
Solid green -Running OS.
Blinking green -Booting or running BCH.
Blinking yellow (1/sec.)- Attention:
Blinking red (2/sec.) -Fault

And if you don't want to move from your desk, telnet lanconsole (MP) and take a look at the vfp.

LEDs | LOCATOR | SYSTEM | POWER
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
| OFF | ON GREEN | ON GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Status | System running normally.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can refer to the post of sysadm for color signification.

But does any LED show system halted.

I mean, when I had given "shutdown -hy now" command and system had reached the halt state.

Does anything change in the front panel ?

If you issue the shutdown command from the (lan-)console, the last lines you see will be:

System has halted
OK to turn off power or reset system
UNLESS "WAIT for UPS to turn off power" message was printed above

when the system is halted the led of system (or power) is blinking.
