I am installing 11.17 but should have 11.18 available, should I wait for the software or go ahead and install 11.17 and then upgrade.
Solved! Go to Solution.

SolutionProper procedure is:
Take node 1 out of cluster with cmhaltnode
swremove the old version of SG
swinsall the new version
migrate and check your configuration files as best you can.
On node 2 cmhaltcl
This stops the cluster
start the cluster on node 1 new version. Get all the packages running. You will probably need to do a cmquercl/cmcheckconf/cmapplyconf cycle.
then swremove the old version in node 2
swinstall, migrate configuration for node 1 and go back to two node operation.
You should wait to install 11.18 until you have fully tested it in a lab environment and you know it works with all your applications.

Re: How to upgrade from 11.17 to 11.18?
Even you have to upgrade from 11.17 to 11.18 make sure that you are having full and reliable IGnite of both the servers ans also a backup of /etc/cmclutser and i assume that in case of the upgrade from the 11.17 to 11.18 you are not planning of an OS upgrade.
