How to use exported file...
Hi Gurus,
I just went through Rafiq Raheman book & found that we can export directory as well as files. so how we can access a file which is exported in NFS server...
=====================
In Server...
=====================
# exportfs
/etc/passwd -ro
What should I do to use the password file in a client machine.
It is not a problem in production, just doing testing and to update my knowledge.
Thanks
Piyush Mathiya

I wasn't aware you can export files, only directories, file systems.
Once you export that filesystem, you probably won't be able to use that /etc/passwd as a password file, you can just look at it.
(Not sure if a symlink would work?)
What are you really trying to do?
