how to use nettl with ACC 2.23 ?
I would like to trace ACC/X.25 with nettl but I saw that it's not possible to do it with ACC 2.23. What can I do ? Is it possible to upgrade ACC or to install a patch to use nettl ? If there's a patch, which one ?

Re: how to use nettl with ACC 2.23 ?
The Advanced Communications Controller card has its own tracing facility, that can be purchased separately from the ACC/X.25 product. There is not currently a version of ACC/X.25 that will work with the nettl utility.

Re: how to use nettl with ACC 2.23 ?
I am suprised you are telling me it's impossible, I saw in this forum it was with ACC 2.40. Take a look at this http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0xaa6adfe5920fd5118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

Re: how to use nettl with ACC 2.23 ?
Stefan,
You have to upgrade ACC X.25 to version 2.40 (10.20) or 2.39 (10.10) and then install the ACC X.25 patches for those releases to allow nettl/netfmt of packet traces on ACC X.25.
Your HP Support contacts can help you to do this.
In order to capture a packet trace on ACC X.25 Version 2.23, you need to either:
1.) ATTEMPT to collect an axin_trc
Here's something I copied and cannot swear to whether it works or not: Axin trace dump. That is, to capture the problem trace,
do the following:
i) /etc/axin_trc -c (this will clear the axin trace buffer)
ii) reproduce the problem at this point
iii) /etc/axin_trc > axin.log (to capture the problem trace)
or 2.) Install the 2.23-compatible ACC X.25 protocol analyzer product which allows you to convert 2 ports of the ACC card into a packet analyzer. This s/w is actually VERY handy and many of our customers like to use it, even though it is an optional product.
For complete information see the manual:
ACC X.25/ISDN Data Analyzer User's Guide. Part number 5966-7396.
The Analyser consists of both a special cable and software. At hp-ux 10 the software was an additional product (Z7265A) but at hp-ux 11 this is included in the X.25 product although the cable still has to be purchased.
Analyser cable
The cable is product number (Z7219A) 93302-60041 for the RS-232 cable and product number (Z7218A) 93302-60039 for the V.35 cable
Hope all this helps,
