Hi everyone, newbie in UX.
How do I secure the passwd file ?
do I need to shadow it with 10.20 (if so how)?
what are the drawbacks in creating a TRUSTED SYSTEM?
Thanls

Solution
No drawback to a little added security methinks (except when you forget roots passwd :) )
You can convert the system to a trusted system with SAM ->auditing and security-> system security policies. This will create the /tcb and all neccessary "shadow" passwords.

Re: HP 10.20 : shadow passwords needed??
Take a look at pwconv and tsconvert commands they can also be used rather than sam.

Re: HP 10.20 : shadow passwords needed??
Hi,
I agree with Marc, unless you have a spare uid 0 account, I would suggest that you give yourself plus maybe another all privileges with sam (sam -r) and especially in users/action/modify user's security policies/General Users Account Policies/Authorize User to boot to single-user state.
Remember that in converting in trusted, it will activate Unsuccessful login tries allowance (default is 3 I think)...
Good luck
Victor
