HP 4250 not accepting printer options from HP UX Spooler.

We have installed an HP4250 on the network and we are trying to print to it from HP-UX 11.11. The printer has been installed with the net_lj4250 driver.

According to the man page for net_lj4250, it should recognize options like vsi but it is not.

It will recognize portrait / landscape options. It recognizes the option to print compressed.

But when we print landscape a standard report page prints over a page and a half - since the vsi spacing seems to be ignored.

Anyone have any wisdom to offer ?

what is the exact lp command that you type?

lp -dprinter_name -olandscape -ofp13 -ovsi6 filename

Same command works fine on any one of dozens of other printers that are not 4250's

Your command seems to be correct. Try creating another spooler (I assume you use hppi) pointing to the same 4250 printer but use a generic printer model like HP laserjet 4000. Then try the options again.
