HP B11.11 version level of the OS

Hello,

What does it mean the letter A or U (uname -v)?
On my server, i've the letter A and I must switch to U

[root@su1169: / ] uname -a
HP-UX su1169 B.11.11 A 9000/800 363044003 two-user license

==> final target:
[root@su1169: / ] uname -a
HP-UX su1169 B.11.11 U 9000/800 363044003 unlimited-user license

Is it possible? Is there any relation with OS licence level?

This must be a very old release, because it is unlimited since many years by default.

I have only seen this up to release 11.00, not in 11.11.

In 11.00 there was a bundle called

UnlimUserLic B.11.00.02 HP-UX Unlimited-User License

but there is non in 11.11.


Maybe this could be a solution:

backup your system, use a current install media (e.g. Dec 2006) and use update-ux to get a newer release. Don't forget to install the latest patches after this.
