Re: HP B2000 workstation not booting

Hallo Manjunath

are you using a flatpanel display?
It seems that your workstation didn't know what display is attached. If you start your ws and press the "tab" key several times(after memory is checked), it starts a session to check the attached display.
If you get an monitor signal, confirm the questions.
In the boot sequence you can configure the graphic device you will use.

Best regards

Re: HP B2000 workstation not booting

Are you able to log in remotely via telnet? This would at least confirm that the system is booting properly.

Re: HP B2000 workstation not booting

Hallo Manjunath

The monitor check for each type of monitor
run several seconds (10-20). Please wait 2-3 minutes before you press any other key which breaks the test session.
If you gotn't any signal, you must attach a serial terminal ( or use the "Hyperterminal" with a MS Notebook) to get a response from the workstation, where you can change the monitor and console settings.

Best Regards

Re: HP B2000 workstation not booting

if it has a serial port you may connect a serial cable from there to ur PC and configure Hyper terminal to get a text display so that u get what error it has. I think u need to disconnect the monitor unit from the system

Re: HP B2000 workstation not booting

Hi Manjunath,

Your system will not boot if keyboard and mouse are not connected or if one of them is faulty.

Check with a working set of mouse and keyboard. Is it a new system you are trying to boot for the first time?

If you were able to use the system earlier what changes did you make? Did you add any graphics card to the sysytem?

I am not sure about this, but I guess B2000 systems have a PS2 keyboard and mouse. Check this as well.

Cheers,
Mohan.
