Re: HP C8000

Hi,

the C8000 is only supported with HP-UX 11.11 (aka 11iv1).

Re: HP C8000

Yes and no - it depends.

There were some "older" workstations based on Itanium CPUs like the zx6000 - supported with 11iv2 (aka 11.23) until (I guess) march 2004. They are no longer supported with 11.23.

If you need a "small" system with 11.23 or 11.31 have a look at the rx2660 server - you can even get a "office friendly" (not so noisy) version.

Re: HP C8000

HP has stopped so far to produce workstations, but in fact, the difference between a workstation and a low-end server has disappeared.
Take a rx2660 "server" (this system is almost smaller then a c8000), put a graphics card in it, and you got a workstation that is multiple times more powerful then a c8000 will ever be.
