HP Ignite on a Rev B 3700

Hi All,

I am having difficulties igniting a C3700 server with B.11.11.

The bootp & TFTP run fine but the installation process hangs with the message:
1175142 + 1970264 + 2631464 start 0x200d68

I ran up ethereal and it appears the install fails because files in the /opt/ignite/stand were not present.

Can anyone tell me what package to install for these files to be place here.

Thanks,
John

I've never heard of /opt/ignite/stand nor does it exist on any of my 100+ systems with Ignite installed on them.

Make certain that you have the current version of Ignite installed (C.6.9.150).

Also, verify your tftp connectivity by trying to tftp a file from your Ignite server to the client or another system.

If you have an inetd.sec on the Ignite server make certain that it allows access to the tftp, bootps and instl_boots services. The entries for bootps and instl_boots should look like

bootps allow 0.0.0.0
instl_boots allow 0.0.0.0

where is the host name of the Ignite server.

Re: HP Ignite on a Rev B 3700

Shalom,

Check that the C3700 workstation (its not a server) has up to date firmware.

This issue is common if the firmware has not been updated to support HP-UX 11.11

Re: HP Ignite on a Rev B 3700

I have found the problem.

It turns out that disconnecting the ide cdrom makes it all work perfectly. I can't explain it - I can't even remember why I gave that a shot.

Cheers,
