HP Praesidium IDS/9000 Setting Up Error (Secure Communications)
Hi,
I am trying to set up the HP IDS/9000 on my HP D380/2 server running HP-UX 11.0. The installation (swinstall) of the package, the JRE, and of the required patches both for Agent and Admin was successfull. But, when I am setting up the IDS/9000's Secure Communications running the /opt/ids/bin/IDS_genAdminKeys script as ids user, I am receiving error message (possibly from the ${IDS_BASE}/lbin/genAdminCerts ):
"Generating key pair (please wait) ....... Could not seed random object (2003)"
and the script fails.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions to solve this problem.
Ioannis

Re: HP Praesidium IDS/9000 Setting Up Error (Secure Communications)
I don't know if this helps much, but I have seen similar errors with SSL and it usually involves missing rand files(contain random info for random number generation) or a problem with randd.(random number daemon) I don't know if either of these is the problem, but from the nature of the error message it wouldn't hurt to check them out.
Good Luck,
Jason V.

I am still in a truble with the IDS/9000.
Any suggestion is welcome.
