HP RT boot failure after FSCK

I have several HP RTs that boot up via backplane networking using the bootp protocol. After a file system crash and subsequent recovery completed, it was found that the some of the HP RTs would not boot up. I believe it was a boot scan time out problem as the HP-743 Owner's manual mentioned a "Repeat Scan for AutoBoot Devices" flag, which after setting to YES, would result in an indefinite boot scan. However, I've found out that doing that didn't help either. Can someone advise how the problem may be resolved? Thanks.

At this point its time to take out your make_tape_recovery tape, or connect to your make_net_recovery archive and restore the system configuration.

The data on those remote disks is done, cooked, and is not coming back.

If you don't have a configuration backup, you'll probably need to re-install the os.

The first thing, I'd do however is get out the core os cd and see what you can do about booting to a recovery shell and attempting to run fsck on those disks again.

Re: HP RT boot failure after FSCK

Sorry Steven, I'm afraid you misunderstood me. There is no problem with the remote disk or the boot server, as a reset on the HP-743 card is all I need to get it up. What I hope to do is to for the RTs to be able to boot up without any manual intervention. I wonder if anyone can verify that by setting the "Repeat Scan for AutoBoot Devices" flag should do the job and did I do it correctly.
